NowYouKnowAbout was founded by Clarissa Brooke-Turner, ex-journalist, TV presenter, teacher and mother.  It’s a young vibrant company dedicated to making general knowledge fun and engaging for children.  Our unforgettable films offer a totally original and easy way to absorb the sort of knowledge that you often don’t get at school or at home but which is part of any well-rounded mind.  All of our characters are household names that crop up repeatedly in daily life, in art, in books, in films, museums and in wider conversation.  Knowing something about these iconic figures gives children greater confidence, an academic edge and encourages a curious mind. 

How did it start? When Clarissa’s 8-year-old daughter told her that the Mona Lisa was painted by Leonardo di Caprio, her first reaction was to grab a book. And there are plenty of books…on art, on scientific breakthroughs, on explorers and so on...but they need reading, and a degree of concentration from a child, or some spare time from a busy parent. What she wanted was something fun, relaxing and in a format all children trust. That’s how our short, simple, funny films were born and they prove to be the magical way to introduce children to some really famous people and their achievements.
